TV/FILM

Distric Line Poductions Ltd.: Trailer for "Late Harvest": A documentary was filmed in our area by Jared Lorenz.

In this documentary is music by Mortlach's Skylar  Cafferata  and longtime Mortlach Fiddler Vernon Rowe, among others. After you open the link provided, go to "Reel" and click on "Dial-up Version" for Late Harvest. It's awesome.

Movie made in Mortlach : Conquest

In 1998, a movie was filmed in Mortlach called " Conquest" by Heartland Motion Pictures. It won the 1998 Atlantic Film Festival award for "Best Canadian Feature Film" and in 1999, Monique Mercure won a Genie for "Best Performance by an actress in a Supporting Role." The movie starred  Lothaire Bluteau and Tara Fitzgerald.

There is a video copy at the Mortlach Library branch but you will need a VCR to watch it. The scenery and setting is spectacular (Of course!); the sets that were made to 'depress' the town were well done. Some local people were in the film (not the two naked men though... :)   )
